With conventional methods of manufacturing like CNC this can’t be avoided due to the limitations in possible geometries. The base polymer is much lighter than solid metal making it ideal for aerospace applications.

The quality of high frequency components depend strongly on the quality of its conductive surface. Surface roughness leads to scattering and interference and therefore signal losses. Electrochemical plating reduces the surface roughness and improves overall performance. At Biconex we established optimized plating processes that lead to clearer signals at high frequencies, less energy loss, and stable performance even under demanding conditions.

When it comes to the materials, different applications have different needs. For harsh environmental conditions corro­sion resistance may be paramount. In other cases preserving your signal performance may be your primary goal which requires the most conductive materials. Sometimes you may need a compromise between both. At Biconex we always start with a base copper layer with an excellent conduc­tivity. Since copper is very prone to environmental influences we add either silver, the most conductive metal with a tarnishing protection or a nickel layer for optimized corrosion resistance. Other metals like gold are possible as well upon request. You choose what matters most — and we make sure the surface works exactly the way you need it to.
